President: Astana today is trillion tenge of budget revenues a year
Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the reception in celebration of the Capital Day, held in the Congress Center of the Exhibition Complex "Astana EXPO-2017", Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
The event was attended by MPs, members of the Government, state bodies, representatives of the diplomatic corps, business and cultural circles.
The President congratulated everyone on the Capital Day, noting the high dynamics of the development of Astana over the last 19 years.
"Yesterday evening I went around the city and saw a lot of people walking in the streets, despite the late time of the day. This says a lot. The people feel safe," he said, emphasizing that today's energetic rhythm of Astana sets the pace for the entire countryís renewal, and pointing out the importance of hosting the EXPO-2017 for the further development of the city and the country as a whole.
"Thanks to EXPO-2017, Kazakhstan is now in the focus of international attention. We are the only state that built a new megapolis at the turn of the century. Astana today is a trillion tenge of budget revenues a year. 65% of all the receipts come from small and medium-sized businesses. We have witnessed the formation of our capital, "- Nazarbayev went on to say.
Ending his speech, he once again congratulated Kazakhstanis on the Day of the Capital.
