Industrial Output up 10 Percent Year-On-Year in Jan-Feb
Kazakhstan’s industrial output rose 10.4 percent year-on-year in the first two months of 2010, the State Statistics Agency reported on Thursday.
The government expects industrial output to expand 3.3 percent this year.
Prime Minister Karim Masimov also said in a government meeting that Kazakhstan’s GDP grew by 6-7 percent year-on-year in January and February of 2010.
“The results of (…) the first two months of this year are very encouraging. The industry has grown (…) by more than 10 percent in January and February. And, according to preliminary figures, the gross domestic product in January and February rose by 6 to 7 percent,” Masimov said, according to SRI.
